The other day I went into our classroom to feed the froggies and sitting on our river table was a sparrow. See more photos here. The good news was that I had some bird food in the room (suet) so it could eat while we figured out an escape route. One of the photos is my son with a sheet and bird food on him to try and capture the bird that way. You can see the bird in the background thinking about it. It didn't work. The screens on the window were locked so we couldn't get it out that way. Our animal loving custodian Kayvon, took three hours to get it out the door and down the stairs and out the side door. The bird was, I am sure, happy to be free to find his family and friends.
Speaking of family and friends, I hope you are doing well this summer with your family and friends.
On Friday I finished teaching at Brandeis, so now I am getting ready to spend more time with my family for some vacation time. How about you? Is the summer going by quickly or slowly? If you have a minute, let me know what's going on for you. If not, I understand. It will be good to see you again in September. Audun, I won't see you in September, but I will look forward to staying in touch.
That's it for now,
Sincerely,
Ms. Stark
